In the 1700’s Chinese handpainted panels came to Europe as gifts for people as ambassadors, aristocrats and royalty. They were also
presented to wealthy merchants of the various East India companies as tokens of esteem. The papers were beautiful, rare and highly sought
after by wealthy Europeans and Americans. Many of these designs consisted of various types of flower and fruit trees in vibrant colours,
